Ladies and Gentlemen,
It’s a pleasure to be called upon to chair the Launching Ceremony of the “Admin Professionals Conference scheduled for July 2019, and the Pre-Conference Activities” and wish to congratulate the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana (CIAMC) and its Partner Institutions for this laudable initiative.
I am aware that countries like the United States of America, Australia, Canada and Kenya have been celebrating administrative professionals for many years now, and I am happy to see that Ghana is planning its maiden celebration through the efforts of CIAMC to recognise the tremendous and pivotal role of administrative professionals in organizational efficiency.
The first impression of a project is a gauge for the effectiveness of the project’s future performance and the strength of that first impression depends on how well the introduction is organized. This media interaction and the support from the media houses after the launch will be critical to the achievement of objectives set out for the celebrations. Your participation in this media meeting thus carries an important responsibility and I hope that live up to it.
The Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana, of which I am proud Fellow, is duly registered as a Professional Body in accordance with the provisions of the Professional Bodies Registration Decree 1973 (NRCD 143). As a professional body, it is mandated to promote excellence in the practice of professional administration and management consultancy in Ghana, by examining, chartering, and regulating the practice of members. The Institute, I am told, has since October 2001 licensed 635 professional administrators and management consultants and there are about 1720 candidates at various levels of the examination and certification process. This a great achievement and I say kudos to you.
. CIAMC’s programmes are designed to:
• Raise standards of professional practice in support of better business performance,
• Provide a development path for individuals, and a recognised qualification and award route, which form the foundation for a number of professional qualifications including the Chartered Professional Administrator (ChPA) and the Chartered Management Consultant (CMC) Awards.
There are three entry options available, namely:
1. The Pre-licensing Qualifying Examinations (structured examinations to admit, SHSC, HND and bachelor degree holders),
2. The Professional Licensing Programme (structured skill acquisition projects, seminars and case studies to admit Master’s degree and above).
3. Experienced Practicing Senior Administrators and Management Consultants (structured seminars, case studies and testimonials)
You would agree with me that professionalism is key in the growth and development of every organisation and it is against this background that I wish to congratulate the Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants-Ghana (CIAMC) for ensuring that administrators who form the backbone of organisations are properly equipped to perform. I also encourage all administrators who have not registered with the institute to do so.
July, 2019 will mark a new chapter in the administrative profession in Ghana, well done CIAMC, I appeal to all the media houses gathered here to offer the needed support to the institute in the pre-conference activities to be outlined and also encourage you all to be part of the conference in July.
At this juncture, ladies and gentlemen, I have the singular honour to declare activities lined up for the maiden conference of Administrative Professionals in Ghana to be held in July, 2019 duly launched.
